As a business, we are continually striving to enhance the experience associated with consuming our beverages and their overall quality.


There is a need for all products to become more natural and be clean label.  A key part of clean labelling is that the number of ingredients in the declaration is minimised.



We are looking for natural preservatives for beverage applications. Any additional functionality would be of interest, i.e. preservative and flavouring.


Key Success Criteria
  • Proven or evidenced solutions: basic technology has been tested in a simulated environment.
  • Time to market: <3 years.


Possible Approaches
  • Natural preservatives.
  • Antimicrobial ingredients including those which may also deliver pleasant flavour.
  • Flavouring components that deliver antimicrobial functionality.
  • Delayed or controlled preservative action / release is also of interest.
  • Packaging or other technologies that positively impact upon preservation. 


Approaches not of interest
  • Artificial ingredients.
  • Any ingredients that would not be considered natural or clean label.

  • How adaptable is the technology, can it be used in a wide range of scenarios
  • Background information on the people involved in the proposal
