As a business, we are continually striving to enhance the experience associated with consuming our beverages.

 

Background

Multiple influences combine to provide a pleasurable drinking experience. The traditional focus encompasses aroma, taste and ingestion. A more holistic view of consumption pleasure extends to: pre-purchase factors; sensory attributes that affect attitudes during product opening and consumption; and, post-consumption experience.

 

The aim therefore is to understand and influence these factors to create a product that leaves the consumer with a truly pleasurable drinking experience.

 

Key Success Criteria
  • Proven or evidenced solutions: basic technology has been tested in a simulated environment.
  • Time to market: <3 years.

 

Possible Approaches

We are looking for ways that positively impact the overall experience associated with drinking a beverage. Approaches, methods or technologies that can assist in measuring, delivering or influencing an enhanced drinking experience are sought.

The scope includes;

 

  • Sensory Attributes; to improve; mouth feel, refreshment, sensation, texture, flavour etc.
  • Selection; for example, marketing influences.
  • Packaging; for example; to enhance sensory pleasure or pleasure in use.
  • Post-consumptions influences; for example, utilising digital and social interactions.
  • Manufacturing Process; to contribute to the delivery of a pleasurable drinks experience.
  • Tools and Techniques to measure pleasure.

  • How adaptable is the technology, can it be used in a wide range of scenarios
  • Background information on the people involved in the proposal
