Description

Subsea 7 seeks proposals which will enable the internal integrity inspection of installed Pipeline Bundle Systems on the seabed (existing infrastructure). We are seeking technology solutions which facilitate the non-intrusive inspection of the pipeline enabling the assessment of any deterioration / corrosion or damage to the structure or materials including; internal electrical cables, hydraulic control tubing lines and flowlines containing oil or gas. The ideal solution will enable the inspection of Pipeline Bundles with minimum impact on production schedules. 
Two potential solutions are sought: the ability to conduct a quick scan focusing on the fully immersive assessment of a small area. Secondly the ability to conduct a detailed follow-up assessing a larger area of the Pipeline Bundle System.

Background

Subsea 7 has been successfully designing, fabricating and installing Pipeline Bundles since 1980. This product neatly incorporates all structures, valve work, pipelines and control systems necessary to operate a field in one single product, delivering considerable value and  cost savings for a wide range of applications. 


The Subsea 7 Pipeline Bundle product is a sealed system which integrates the required flowlines and control systems necessary for any subsea development, and assembles them within a steel carrier pipe.


Attached at each end of the Pipeline Bundle are the towhead structures, incorporating equipment and valves, designed specifically to meet the field requirements. The system, which has been fully function tested onshore, is then launched and towed to the oil field using the Controlled Depth Tow Method. Final installation includes flooding the carrier annulus with (treated) seawater and lowering to the seabed. 

 

 

Bundle Components

 

A subsea Pipeline Bundle can incorporate a combination of features, including:

  • Active heating of product lines
  • Corrosion resistant alloy materials
  • Carbon steel pipe with CRA or plastic liners
  • Hydraulic control tubing within Pipeline Bundles, direct to manifold
  • Electrical control signal and power cables

 

 

 

Key Success Criteria

•    Ability to inspect pipeline diameters of up to 60 inches (typically 27 to 60”) 
•    Ability to assess internal flowlines through seawater
•    Lower OPEX for clients
•    Proof of concept & system level testing
•    Corrosion monitoring / mapping capability
•    Condition monitoring functionality

  • Sensing Technology
  • Rapid screening techniques (identifying gross internal changes while passing at speed)
  • External inspection on localised areas with increased accuracy from the screening process
  • Computed Tomography

  • Solutions which require dredging of seabed / have significant environmental impact
  • Solutions that require intrusive intervention
  • Solutions that require dewatering of the Pipeline Bundle
  • Solutions that require pigging
  • Proposals which are based on friction welding an access solution
