Description

Siemens Healthcare is seeking flexible, integrated cabling solutions to reduce the cable installation and routing times in medical scanners.

The cable carrier should enable cabling outside of the scanner, then it should be easy to install the carrier (and the cabling) into the CT scanner.

The pictures show the cable routing without a cable carrier. The new cable carrier will support the blue cables and two hoses.

Background

A flatter, more flexible fixation for the cabling will make assembly easier and save assembly time. The existing cables are fixed with cable ties on a steel support system (see picture below). The new carrier will replace the old solution.

Key Success Criteria
  • Flexible, flat cable carrier system
  • The cable carrier should be a diameter of 900mm and a width of 350mm
  • Fits into spaces with heights < 50mm
  • Enables cabling outside the scanner, and then put the cables into the system as complete package
  • Works with different types of cables
  • Works with different diameter cables (cable size from 5mm to 30mm)
  • Made of a flexible material, not steel.
  • Saves installation time
  • Allows easy removal of the carrier and single cables
  • X-Ray resistance is essential
