IncWell's partner seeks new methods and technology to permit great speed, efficiency and, if possible, autonomy, when producing and assembling components for state-of-the-art asynchronous motor (ASM) or permanent magnet synchronous (PMSM) motor stator/rotors.



ASM and PMSM assemblies are comprised of stacks of thin, magnetic metal plates, designed to minimize eddy current losses. While these thin sheets do enable low losses, they also require a high degree of production effort. Typically, a sheet is first stamped, work hardened (if applicable), stacked and connected.


Modern production processes can produce a high volume of sheets per minute (on the order of 600/minute).


IncWell's partner seeks approaches capable of fast, cost effective stator/rotor assembly which also enable a high degree of freedom in design as well as one or more of the following advantages:


  • integration of stator/rotor cooling
  • integration e-motor winding
  • offers high magnetic characteristics and high mechanical strength
  • permanent magnets (if used) are mounted during production (or completely replaced)


Key Success Criteria

The successful technology will:

  • Permit freedom of design and integration of cooling (especially in notched area)
  • Improve speed of assembly per meter of active length of stator/rotor
  • Be cost effective assembly of stator/rotor
    • ideally cost neutral to existing technology
