Next-generation Power Supply

Request Number N473499
Need details

Incwell's partner is seeking next-generation power supplies, in particular ones that can provide an equivalent level of power at reduced cost.

IncWell's partner is intrigued by ongoing development efforts to create 100% electronic locking mechanisms. A key component to the successful establishment of this technology is a suitable, reliable and robust power source.

Supercapacitors are sufficiently powerful, however their cost tends to limit broad application.

To that end, we are seeking next-generation power supplies:  small, powerful, long-lasting and, ideally, at reduced cost.

Key Success Criteria

Power supply specifications:

  • Size not larger than 16.0mm diameter, 25.0mm length
  • 2.7V working voltage
  • 3.0V surge voltage
  • Capacitance 25.0F
  • -40 to +80 deg Celcius temperature range
  • Minimum TRL 4

Additional Specifications:

  • In case of power outage, power source needs to have enough power for 10 latch releases
  • Storage device to maintain enough power to actuate latch to open door after 90 days without power
  • Life of source needs to be 10 years
