Description

We are looking for technology to detect long distance objects (objects on road, pedestrians, vulnerable road users) in poor lighting such as night, rain, snow, and fog, while driving at medium to high speeds.

 

Background

Driving at night, especially on rural roads, has increased potential for accidents and is, therefore, of significant concern. When vehicles are moving at moderate to high speed, it is difficult to detect people and objects at >90m. Complicating the detection problem is the potential for poor lighting conditions (due to weather, time of day, etc.)

 

IncWell's seeks vision technology capable of detecting objects at long distances under a variety of environmental conditions while in motion.

 

Key Success Criteria
  • Long range (90m+) vision technologies that can be used for object detection in poor lighting conditions when driving at medium to high speed (e.g.>80km/hr). 
  • Poor lighting includes night, rain, snow, fog.
  • Target cost < $30 per sensor
  • Minimum TRL 3
