Commercial biopolymer now available: An economic and sustainable alternative to petrochemicals
West Fraser Mills, a leading manufacturer of wood products, has commenced commercial production of a wood-derived biopolymer that can be tailored for use as the starting material for making high value chemicals, plastics and other products (surfactants, PF resins, polyols, polyurethanes, adhesives, carbon fibre, dispersants, fine chemicals). West Fraser Mills is looking for companies interested in purchasing this cost-effective product. Currently, West Fraser is able to manufacture 30 metric tons of biopolymer / day or 10,500 tonnes/ yr.
