Technology to make carbonated water to provide sensory stimulation similar to carbonated water. Two solutions below

  1. A manufacturing technology that can add CO2 to drinking water at 1.0 kg/cm2 or more without using large equipment or large CO2 cylinders.
  2.  Technology or food-grade ingredient that can give a sensory stimulation similar to carbonated water (in the mouth or throat) when drinking.
Background

In order for consumers to obtain carbonated water, they need to purchase packaged carbonated water on the market or use a household soda maker.

However, carbonated waters on the market have problems such as carbonation being released (when it is opened, or in the case of PET bottles, it is released after manufacture), and as for household soda makers there is a further hurdle that consumers need to use large devices or disposable CO2 cylinders.

If consumers can enjoy carbonated water easily with a simple and small device, we believe that it will lead to new market developments.

Key success Criteria
  1. Manufacturing technology that can add CO2 to drinking water 1.0 kg/ cm2 or more without using large equipment or a large carbon dioxide gas cylinder. It is preferable that the equipment or the cylinder is light or small enough to carry. (The standard is less than 20cm2, less than 1kg)
  2. Technology or food-grade ingredient that can give sensory stimulation similar to carbonated water when drinking. It is desirable to have a similar stimulation of carbon dioxide of 1.0 kg / cm2 or more.
Possible Approaches
  1. A tablet that can make carbonated water when it is put in water. Miniaturized equipment and CO2 cylinder that can make carbonated water.
  2. A technology or ingredient to feel sensory stimulation similar to carbonated water in the mouth or throat.
Approaches not of Interest

Technology that is not applicable to food or similar.
