ICL Innovation seeks advanced fertilizers for various application methods to supplement ICL's plant nutrition solutions, with a focus on fertigation and foliar applications.

Background

ICL Specialty Fertilizers, a business unit of ICL Fertilizers, produces superior-quality, cost-effective specialty fertilizers that help growers achieve higher yields and better quality, in spite of scarce water and limited arable land.  Please view information on ICL's current product line at the ICL Specialty Fertilizers web page.

Key success Criteria
  • Cost effectiveness

  • Loading-fertilizer should be at least 85% of the final product by weight

  • Performance in real life conditions-release profile, cross effects, etc.

  • Feasibility of application using mostly existing machinery and following established practices

  • Regulatory considerations

  • Advanced foliar applications, including improved uptake and penetration of nutrients
  • Efficient transport of nutrients to the plant phloem
  • Advanced micro-nutrients systems, including foliar applications
  • Low cost nutrient delivery system
  • Nano technology to enhance nutrition efficacy
  • Specialty fertilizers for advanced fertigation techniques
  • Soluble slow release nutrients for foliar application
  • Unique nutrient properties - chemical and physical
  • Special oligo (Ca, Mg, S) and microelements (Fe, Zn, Mn, Mo, B, Cu) formulations and chelates
  • Solutions for mitigating soil challenges such as high Cd content

ICL Innovation welcomes responses from academic or research institutions or other organizations who are interested in developing innovative technologies and sharing intellectual property in licensing.  Approaches with demonstrated feasibility are preferred, but early stage approaches with sound scientific concepts are also welcome.  Technologies aligned with business interest will enjoy full funding until implemented on an industrial scale.
