Siemens is seeking wireless charging modules (5~15 W and/ or 30~60 W)  to charge the wireless components in the medical equipment.


Traditional, wired, charging methods are not convenient in a hospital environment. Wireless charging will help, for example, it will allow deeper integration of devices and facilitate cleaning.


Key success Criteria
  • With >70% charging efficiency
  • With 5~15 (Qi standard RMC) or 30~60 W (tablet) effective power
  • Contains sender and receiver
  • 6-10mm between coils
  • Compact PCB design with good thermal management. Smaller, flatter PCBs are preferred
  • Modular design is preferred to allow reuse of the coil and PCB in different components and projects
  • Battery power management is preferred. Ideally low no direct consumption of the transmitted power, so the maximum power can be used for recharging.
  • Meets Qi standard specification
  • Ideally with the necessary certification for country approvals in our major markets (for example, some or all of, USA, European Union, China, Russia, India, Brazil, South Korea, Canada, Taiwan). Siemens don’t want to apply for any wireless component certifications by themselves. Siemens want to incorporate the approved in their system and apply for a medical device certification.
  • Please include approaches or ideas about battery management and thermal management (particularly for the 60W effective power)
