Experts in Paper Technologies
RFP Description

NineSigma, on behalf of a Global Paper Packaging Manufacturer, is seeking Subject Matter Experts to participate in a range of compensated consulting activities in the area of Paper-Based Packaging Technologies for void fill, cushioning, wrapping and block & bracing applications. Experts from across the landscape of industry, consulting and academia are invited to respond by filling out the short Expert Capabilities Form linked at the bottom of this document.

Background

NineSigma’s client designs and builds a number of paper conversion systems for packaging, cushioning, and void fill uses. Typically, these systems use kraft paper but customers are increasingly interested in recyclable products, which are lower cost but usually do not meet tensile strength, performance, and appearance requirements. Therefore, our client is interested in gaining a better understanding of paper chemistry and processing techniques or technologies that could be applied to paper-based packaging even if not used in this area currently.

Key Success Criteria

Experts with a strong background in one or more of the following topics are of significant interest:

• Paper packaging materials and conversion systems

• Paper additives or chemistries

• Paper folding or shaping

Potential experts may be involved in a wide range of technical disciplines, including but not limited to paper and polymer chemistry, processing, and packaging.
