Description

ICL Innovation seeks novel reactive non-halogenated flame retardants for epoxy formulations.

 

Background

ICL-IP also offers the world’s most comprehensive range of phosphorus-based flame retardants, fire resistant plasticizers and hydraulic fluids for high demanding applications. Bromine-and phosphorus-based flame retardants are considered to be the two most efficient flame retardant families, constituting approximately 55% (in value) of total flame retardant usage. ICL-IP’s portfolio also includes a few additional non-halogen and non-phosphorus based flame retardants such as high purity grades of magnesium hydroxide.

 

Key Success Criteria

The successful technology will:

  • Be efficient in meeting FR criteria such as UL-94 and LOI requirements
  • Have minimal impact on electrical and mechanical properties in the end-application
  • Be environmentally safe
  • Be cost efficient

ICL Innovation welcomes responses from academic or research institutions or other organizations who are interested in developing innovative technologies and sharing intellectual property in licensing.  Approaches with demonstrated feasibility are preferred, but early stage approaches with sound scientific concepts are also welcome.  Technologies aligned with business interest will enjoy full funding until implemented on an industrial scale.
